Heads up – you’re about to feel…vintage.
Never Been Kissed is celebrating being one year shy of legal drinking age – that’s right folks, NBK is officially 20.
What insights can this fan favorite provide when it comes to marketing?
- Regardless of how much you put into changing your personal or professional brand – some folks will always remember how you used to be. This is why I’m a big believer in transparency as you make changes in your brand – we all have human experiences that change us. Don’t make the mistake of trying to pull a fast one on your audience – be open about why you’ve gone different directions + what helped shape those decisions, you as a brand, and you as a person.
- When you try to be someone you’re not, the shit hits the fan. Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow – but it will hit, I promise you. Someone will call your bluff. It’s okay to have imposter syndrome (we all get it from time to time), it is NOT okay to truly be an imposter. Be super clear up front on who + what your brand is, what’s important to it – and how your behaviors consistently back those up.
- You can’t tell a great story if you don’t do your research. You don’t have to go undercover, but you should get really good at asking the right questions if you want to be able to tell your brand story more clearly. What problems do your customers have? How are those problems affecting them? What does success look like when this problem is resolved? What do you wish existed to solve your problem? These are great places to start.
Your challenge this week? Create a social post that for your personal or professional brand that talks about a big change you made in your life/in your brand – and why you made it. Share a little bit of you with your audience – and see what happens.
Feel free to tag @wherecontentconnects in your post or comments so I can check it out.
Always rooting for you,
